Topic: Supporting Statistical Data
I think I put my foot in my mouth!!!!

I recently commented in a post with the name "Protecting children on hi5 from predators " and I mentioned I can provide substancial evidence to my comment not knowing that most of my links to these reposts are broken.

I know this group is about "Child Abuse Info" and would like to ask for your help to find the following info:

Supporting Statistical data provided by the the USA government last year during and after Congress passed the "Protecting Children in the 21st Century Act" providing information about their findings in MySpace and their "Child Safety and Protection" study in collaboration with the US Homeland Security Dept. which started at the end of 2004 and ended sometime last year before the NTIA announced the "Online Safety and Technology Working Group (OSTWG)".

Perhaps someone can help me search through any of these websites:
NTIA Website
USA Congress Website
Networking Statistics

In hopes that Kathy would keep this topic open I want to encourage everyone to participate by posting important info affecting our views on Children Online Protection; comments by government officials, local advocate leaders, and anything that is related to our new Law Family Representatives of the OSTWG including links with information relebant to changes to Social Networking Sites and their participation against Children Predators in the U.S. and through out the World.

Ayuda de Hi5
Personally I think this subject is very important and it can lead to a good result in benefit of hi5 and its community. I usually keep up with my networking news at SocialNetworkingWatch.com which probably has info in reference to this matter.

This topic has been created to post important info affecting our views on Children Online Protection; comments by government officials, local advocate leaders, and anything that is related to our new Law Family Representatives of the OSTWG including links with information relevant to changes to Social Networking Sites and their participation against Children Predators in the U.S. and through out the World.

(I am posting this second comment just in case my intro need to be deleted and someone leaves comments in reference to the subject).

On August 10 Common Sense Media released the results of a study in which they spoke about Children vs Parents social networking habits. This link to this article was found on SocialNerworkingWatch.com and the report was showing on CNBC.com and CommonSense.com. The report has been removed by CNBC but it should be part of "CommonSence.com's" database. If anyone knows the exact URL (address) to the report please don't hesitate to post it here. It most definitely will bring us up to date in the search for a safer family online networking experience.

To resume, the article talks about kids online activities and what parents assume their kids are doing while online on computers and on phones (like sex-ting).

Videos
This video is somehow relevant to this topic and I wanted to post it just in case some of the members may/may not be aware of this.

Dangers of sex-ting (According to US law anyone in possession of children naked pictures can be charge with "Child Pornography" These charges are very serious and children can be charged as well.
