Topic: Bible Study for the day Proverbs 24 More on WISDOM
Proverbs 24
King James Bible

1 Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
2 For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.

3 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:

4 And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

5 A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

6 For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

7 Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.

8 He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.

9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;

12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

13 My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:

14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

15 Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

17 Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

18 Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

19 Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked:

20 For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

21 My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:

22 For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?

23 These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou are righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:

25 But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.

26 Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.

27 Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.

28 Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.

29 Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.

30 I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

31 And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

32 Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.

33 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

34 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.

Verse 16 of this chapter is very encouraging to never give up to do good and follow the righteous path of GOD. No matter how many times you will fail, God will be there to help you to stand again on your feet to continue to walk the righteous path.

'' For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.''

Very good chapter I like verse 10

"10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

You know so many individuals believe once they become a Christian they will lay down only on bed of roses and so when they have to lay down on thistle and thorns they can't handle it and give up easily.

I agree with Irma even if you fall the Lord is able to renew you to repentance and strengthen you in your weakness however you must make 100 U-turn and not be caught in the same mistake.

Trouble and distress will come to all of us at some time in this life. The book of Job is a perfect example of how even a righteous individual often face adversities and persecution sometime by those close to us. Job friends accused him of being wicked his wife told him to curse God and die..Job never gave up on His faith he stood his ground and God brought Him out victoriously.

This is a clear example of God's assurance towards those that love and trust Him. We must always trust His direction for our lives....don't complain...don't ask why me Lord.. remain prayerful it will pass.

Yes, Job is a good example of not giving up and let GOD be His Saviour in his difficult situations. Job reacted WISELY each time he was attacked by SATAN, through the friends. The responses of Job are still famous.

A righteous person will fail many times, because by falling and standing a person learns to WALK righteously and holy.

Holy Spirit will continue HIS WORKS of SALVATION in our lives till we are THRULLY and FULLY Holy And Righteous.
Holy Spirit PERFECTS our souls till the Image of God is fully restored in us.

None is without sin yet. None of us is SINLESS yet. IT will take much of the WORKS of Holy Spirit in us to become without sin(sinless, perfect).

A good example in the Bible is David. David had it all. David had fallen lots of times by the lust of the flesh.
And lateron his lust led him to take the wife of his soldier by letting him be murdered. And that murder led to the loss of its newly born child.
Althoug David did a horrible thing, but God knew the TRUTH about David's Heart. David Loved God very much. God saw love in his heart for HIM.
The life story of David, compared with Saul was that David was remorsefull about his sins and Saul only brought excuses in front of GOD for its sins.

When God confronted David with its sins, than David repented and became each time restored in his relationship with GOD. David knew that he was born of the nature of SIN(verse 5) and asked to create in him a clean heart and a right spirit. verse 10 and 11)
When Saul was confronted by God, through Samuel, than Saul only got lots of excuses for his sinful behaviour. And enjoyed to continue to lead his life IN Sin. That was the difference between Saul and David.

So, it doesnt matter how many times a righteous person will fall, but for GOD it only matters if we are willing to become changed and be cleaned by His Spirit.
David asked of GOD not to take HIS SPIRIT from his life to WORKOUT SALVATION in his soul. David knew that he needed SALVATION and not only forgivness.
This was very clear in the life of David.

See in Psalm 51 about SALVATION by the WORKS of the Spirit.
PSALM 51
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba.

1 Have MERCY upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my SIN.
3 For I acknowledge(admission of guilt) my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this EVIL in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
5 Behold, I was shapen(BORN) in iniquity; and in SIN did my mother conceive me.

6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take NOT thy HOLY SPIRIT from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.

17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
